"W-What?" you stammered as you looked down at the white, plastic stick in your hand. Two pink lines, which meant only one thing... pregnant. Your hands flew up to your mouth and tears began to fall from your eyes. It wasn't that you were upset. In fact, you were ecstatic. You were carrying your beloved Arthur's baby in your womb.
You and Arthur had been married for about two years now. He was truly the one for you and you the one for him. He cared about you more than anything in the world and you the same. You dated for about a year and a half before he proposed to you. Of course you agreed and the two of you were soon wed after that.
However, what stumped you at the moment was how this had happened? Then it hit you. About three weeks ago you had shared a tender moment of intimacy with Arthur. He had been stressed from work that evening and you managed to relax him a bit with a massage. The two of you had headed up to your bedroom. You were about to put on your pajamas when you felt Arthur's strong hands wrap around your stomach, bringing you in for an embrace. Things took off from there and that was that.
"__________, I'm home!" a familiar, British accent called from downstairs. Arthur was home early?
"I'll be down in a moment, love!" you called back. You threw away the test and casually walked down the hall and to the stairs. He caught eyes with you and smiled. "You're home early." You walked down the stairs and he brought you in for a tight hug with a peck on the lips.
"I got off early because I wanted to spend more time with you, love," he sighed against your neck. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he held you close, only to pull back due to the feeling of... trembling? "L-Love, are you alright?"
"Y-Yeah, don't worry," you assured with a smile. He wasn't buying it though.
"Something is wrong," he said, concern evident in his voice. "What's up, love? You can tell me."
"W-well..." you stuttered. "There's nothing wrong. There's something wonderful." He looked at you with curiosity. "I-I know it'll be hard for you to process this."
"Try me, love," he chuckled.
"A-Arthur I... I'm pregnant," you said finally, forcing a smile. His face seemed to stay the way it was before. Perhaps due to shock.
"Excuse me... what was that, love?" he asked, making sure he had actually heard you correctly.
"Arthur, I'm pregnant!" you giggled. His eyes suddenly out of nowhere brightened and he brought you in for a tight hug.
"A-ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" he exclaimed in the embrace. You couldn't help but giggle at his little act of child's play.
"We're having a baby Arthur!" you cried happily. He spun you around and placed several kisses on your face.
"I-I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" he laughed happily. "WE'RE HAVING A BABY! MY SWEET __________ IS PREGNANT!" You were just giggling out of control. It was shocking yet cute to see Arthur so enthusiastic about the new life inside of you. Finally, he relaxed a bit and kissed you on the lips.
"I love you, Arthur," you cooed, your foreheads together. He smiled as his hand went over your tummy.
"As do I," he sighed peacefully as he rubbed your baby bump. "You too... my little one." He then bent down and kissed your tummy, now awaiting the day he would meet the baby your love created.

"Come on, __________!" Arthur encouraged through your painful moans. "Just a few more pushes! You can do it, love!"
"I can see the head!" exclaimed the doctor. Yes, you were now in labor nine months after finding out you were pregnant. You had sweat dripping down your face and your stomach felt like it had been stabbed with a knife. However, you remained focused on getting the baby out safely. Arthur was holding your hand and giving you strong cheers during the ordeal.
"Almost done, love," he said kissing your forehead. "Breathe like this." He kept doing the silly breathing technique they teach you in the birthing classes. You tried your best to follow his coaching. A few moments later you heard the best thing ever.
"One more push Mrs. Kirkland!" the doctor cooed with happiness. Arthur's eyes lit up.
"One more push, love!" he encouraged with excitement. "One more and then we get to meet our little one! Come on! You can do it!"
"A-Alright," you panted. After a hard push and a bit of a strangled screech, you heard the sound of a baby cry as it filled the room.
"Congratulations, it's a girl!" the doctor cooed. You smiled weakly and held your arms out as your little daughter was handed to you. Her crying reduced to little sobs. You began to cry as you looked at your baby girl.
"Oh my God, Arthur," you cried as you looked at him. His eyes softened and tears began to fall from his eyes as well.
"Oh, __________..." he breathed as he brought you and his new baby in an embrace. "She's gorgeous, love." She had to be the most beautiful baby you had ever seen. She had Arthur's hair and your eyes. She had your eyebrows as well, which made you giggle on the inside.
"Hello there," you cooed as your kissed your little girl's forehead. "I'm your mommy, my sweet."
"I'm your papa," Arthur said softly as he laced his finger around your daughter's hand. She grasped it in return. "Welcome to the world, sweetheart." He leaned down and kissed her forehead before looking back at you with love and care.
"I love you, Arthur," you sighed. He gave you a sweet peck on the lips.
"I love you too, __________," he replied with love before the two of you returned your glance to your little girl. Nothing would ruin the moment you shared as a new family.
