"It'll be fine, __________," you whispered to yourself over and over. "You can handle this..."
You heard the small beep sound off from the electric stick you held in your hand. Holding it up to your eye level, you gasped. Positive.
"O-Oh wow. I'm pregnant."
Yes. Pregnant. Pregnant with your husband, Alfred's baby.
You and the country of America, also known as Alfred F. Jones, had been married for about four years now. Somehow Alfred was the perfect guy for you. He was funny, caring, and supportive. You loved everything about him, and he loved the everything else about you.
Now, you were carrying his baby in your stomach.
You began to have various thoughts at that moment. 'What would Alfred say?' Even things like, 'Would he want a baby?'
"__________?" a voice called from outside the bathroom door.
It was Alfred.
"Be out in a minute babe!" you called.
"I gotta pee!" he whined.
You chuckled, unlocking the door before opening it wide to greet a somewhat dancing American holding his crotch.
"You were in there for a while! Everything okay, babe?" he asked.
"Don't worry, Alfred!" you cooed. "Now, go pee before you explode!"
Alfred chuckles, walking in. He kindly shoved you out before shutting the door. You sighed, walking to your bedroom, sitting on the edge of the queen sized bed you and Al shared.
Alfred whistled, unzipping his pants while he did his business. He glanced around the room, stopping after his eyes caught the trash can. There was something inside of it he didn't recognize.
After shaking his junk clean, he pulled his clothes back up. Reaching down into the trash, he pulled out what was sitting in it. As he examined it further, he noticed it. A plus sign. Alfred had found the birth control stick you had thrown away.
His eyes widened in shock. A baby? You were pregnant?
After coming back to reality, Alfred threw the stick away before coming out from the bathroom. Walking to the bedroom, what he saw broke his heart.
You were crying softly into the bed. Wordlessly, Alfred sat on the bed, stroking your hair gently.
"__________... babe?" he whispered.
"I-I'm fine..." you croaked, trying to hide the stress in your voice. "I-I just got dust in-"
"You're pregnant..."
You glanced up at your husband, tears staining your cheeks.
"H-How did you-"
"I found the pregnancy test you left in the trash," he said. "__________, why are you crying?"
"W-Well... it's just... I thought you wouldn't want to have a-"
"Babe... are you kidding?" he chuckled. "I'm super happy!"
You squeeked as Alfred hugged you tightly. You couldn't help but laugh along with him. You knew that everything was going to be okay now. Alfred wanted the baby!
"... I-I love you, Al..."
"I love you too, __________," he cooed in reply, stroking your belly. "Can't wait for the newest, little hero in our family..."

"I... should... kill... you..." you groaned, feeling the pressure on your hips once again.
You were finally in labor about eight months after you had found out you were pregnant. Sweat dripped from your forehead and your muscles clenched with each contraction that ravished your body.
"C'mon, babe! I'm sorry! I love you..." your husband pouted, wincing as you crushed his hand.
"Alright Mrs. Jones," the doctor said. "Give me another, strong push!"
Your body arched back into the hospital bed as you pushed. Thank God for epidurals. Though, you could still feel the baby's head press against you as it slid down further.
"Good, the head is out!" the doctor cooed. "Once more!"
"Y-You're doing awesome, babe... ow..."
Alfred's hand was turning blue.
Finally, after another solid push, your cry was replaced with another's.
"It's a boy!" the doctor said.
Alfred smiled, kissing the top of your head.
"Babe... I'm so proud of you..." he whispered.
You sighed happily. That was until you groaned again. What the hell? The doctor examined you again.
"Oh wow... we're not done here!"
"WHAT!?" you and Alfred screeched in unison.
-- Later --
You sat in the hospital bed, one baby wrapped in a blue blanket, the other in pink.
"Twins..." you said. "Two babies, Al."
Alfred smiled at you, pecking your cheek.
"All from the same, gorgeous momma..."
You both cuddled your babies together. Nothing would ruin this for you both. Not a single thing.

"What happened next?" Nevada asked
"I let her go
" Alfred mumbled
"You let her go?" Hawaii asked
"Yeah
because I knew that she was right. I was denying her the thing we were fighting so hard to have ourselves. And I couldn't bear to see her unhappy" Alfred replied
All of the girls sighed and said "How Romantic" whilst the boys all wrinkled their noses in disgust
"So, what happened to her?" Nevada asked
"She returned to Arthur and I never saw her again
" Alfred replied
"Huh?! Why?" New Jersey asked, horrified
"I don't know" Alfred said, shrugging
He sighed

House of Healing - America x Reader
A House for Healing
An America x Reader Story
The house just wasn’t the same for you anymore and it was not because of the remaining tenant… after all you and Alfred had grown up here together under the watchful eye of your foster family – Alfred’s family. But they had all gone away now and after coming back from college you were unsure if Alfred would accept you inside the way it had been agreed so long ago or talked about over the phone with his mother. Somehow, being away and living out in the world seemed so easy compared to stepping back inside an old farm house when you were now a modern woman.
